Join us and be a part of an International Festival of sailing pageantry! This morning we travel to Chicago to visit Navy Pier. It has been a Chicago landmark since it opened in 1916. First, we will board Chicago’s most entertaining lakefront cruise ship, The Spirit of Chicago, for a fun-filled lunch cruise. We will enjoy a live show featuring music from different eras, a delicious lunch buffet, and a spectacular view of Chicago’s magnificent skyline (weather permitting), and the Tall Ships® docked on the North side of Navy Pier. You’ll relax and enjoy all of this in luxurious, climate-controlled comfort. The Spirit of Chicago will thrill you with its sleek design and elegant décor.
After lunch we witness the majesty of the Tall Ships®. The magnificent ships return to Chicago for a spectacle of historic proportions as they once again grace the shores of Lake Michigan. These spectacular vessels represent maritime history from the Revolutionary War, the War of 1812, Great Lakes trading schooners, Baltimore Clippers and more. There will be 12 ships on display. You will be able to visit some of the ships – each offering its own historic story. They are here as part of the American Sail Training Association’s Tall Ship Challenge®. Chicago is one of only six ports in the USA and Canada to be honored as a host port. This event is truly one of a kind that you will not want to miss! |
